What's the Best Tortoise for Me?- How to know what tortoise is best for my climate, space, and life style. Should I purchase a Leopard, African Spurred, Red-foot, or another species?
Ivory Tortoise- we have the original dark eyed, albino, African spurred tortoises called the Ivory Tortoises! You will find more information on these unique sulcuta tortoises and maybe get one of your own!
African Spurred Tortoise- African Spur Thigh Tortoise, most commonly called Sulcata tortoise, is a species of tortoise, which inhabits the southern edge of the Sahara desert, in northern Africa.
Leopard Tortoise- the Leopard Tortoise is another large African species. In many cultures these tortoises are associated with strength and immortality.
Mossy Frogs- the Mossy Frog has only recently become available in the pet trade. The Mossy Frog comes from the karst zones of northern Vietnam.

Trip to the Galapagos Islands:
Most if not all tortoise enthusiasts have at one time or another dreamed about visiting the Galapagos Islands. Well that dream finally came true for me, what a fantastic experience.
Asian Turtle Project:
In 1997 I became aware of the plight of the many species of Asian turtles and tortoises. Since I had been working with the giant Burmese Mountain tortoise since 1973 it seems logical to commit some of my energy to other Asian species.
Four Inch Tortoise:
We at RIPARIAN FARMS have been trying to legalize the sale of turtles, tortoises, and terrapins which are under four inches to "informed adults". So far we have been unsuccessful. In 1998 we proposed an amendment to the 1975 FDA, sale of turtles less than 4-inches Regulation. It took five years of work to convince the FDA to review the proposal.
Pyramiding in Tortoises:
One of the biggest problems associated with raising captive hatched tortoises is pyramiding. Pyramiding is the raising of scutes during active growth periods. As a tortoise normally grows each scute increases in size horizontally thus increasing the overall diameter of each scute and the size of the tortoise...
